Should I go to an online college or not?

Since this is the first posting here at a online college I thought it makes sense to talk a little bit about trying to answer the question “Should I go to an online college or not?”.
To me, the answer to this question is pretty much the same as “Should I go to college or not?” Because in both cases what we are talking about is higher education. It just so happens that the online college form of education is slightly different, but still in the end achieves the same results. I mean in both cases you are applying yourself towards higher learning, learning a skill, trade or profession that ultimately down the road will benefit you in terms of earning power and personal growth and societal contribution.
Now don’t get me wrong, I definitely think there are some differences between a regular college and an online college, but for the purposes of determining whether one should go to college or not they are basically the same.
So should you go to college or not?
Well, everyone is different and has different goals in life and outlook.
I think the answer depends in large part on what your definite chief aim in life is. Some of you may have heard that term before but it comes from a book by Napolean Hill called Think and Grow Rich. It is a great book actually and I highly recommend it to everyone who is starting out and trying to figure out what they want to do with the rest of their life.
By the way, I think that other book that came out a while ago, The Secret copies the original ideas founded by Napolean Hill. In fact there are probably a lot of other philosophers who have copied his ideas. But anyway I didnt want to get into a tangent or rant about that. Just know that Napolean Hill is the original founding father of the concept of controlling your thoughts to get what you want in life.
So what on earth does a definite chief aim have to do with going to an online college or not?
It is important because I think people really need to have a definite chief aim in their lives and try to decide this early on, because then everything else will flow from that and you will have success. If you do not take the time to decide on a definite chief aim in your life, then your direction thereafter may be somewhat haphazard and confused and you may not get as much out of life as you want.
Take it from me! I am talking from first hand experience. I went to a regular offline college when I was starting out and I have to tell you I was confused about what I wanted to do with my life and I was not sure about my real interests. I wish someone would have told me at the time that I really need to decide what my definite chief aim in life is and then to go with it and never let go.
So you get my point. Before deciding on whether to go to an online college, try to figure out what your definite chief aim is.
Now maybe you already know what you want to study or learn as a college student. If that is the case, and you have been thinking about attending an online college then there are definitely specific factors to consider as you compare an online college to an offline college. I am going to try to get into the plusses and minuses of both in a future posting.
What I wanted to emphasize in this post though is for the people out there who have been thinking about going to an online college but have not really even decided what their definite chief aim in life is. So that was the point here. Decide what your definite chief aim is! and then worry about Online College versus offline college later. And if you need some inspiration on figuring out what that is then go ahead and get the book Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill.
